Grill Tip

Although all of our products are made from heavy, durable materials, they do require cleaning and care:

  1. Drain the grease and water and clean the inside of the pit after every use
  2. Clean the stainless steel surfaces only with a cleaner approved for use on stainless steel
  3. If possible, store your pit under cover or tarpaulin. Custom fitted covers are available from Pitts  & Spitts
  4. Remember to regularly clean the cooking surface grates and coat them with cooking oil and/or spray to prevent rust
  5. Coat the inside of the pit with cooking oil and/or spray to preserve finish
  6. Always remove the ashes from your firebox and/or ash pan after each use. Ashes hold moisture that will create an acid that corrodes the metal of your pit
  7. Once each year, after the cooking season, remove the smoke stack and coat the small insert with cooking spray to prevent the stack from seizing
  8. Once each year, spray the hinges with a deep penetrating food grade lubricant

DO NOT USE PETROLEUM PRODUCTS SUCH AS GASOLINE, THINNERS, ETC., TO CLEAN ANY PART OF THE PIT
