Brisket Chili

Have leftover brisket? Turn it into the perfect chili. This recipe is packed full of flavor and is great to enjoy on a cold winter day.

Ingredients:

1.5 – 2 lbs leftover brisket cubed into preferred size
1 – 2 tbsp Beef Tallow
1 large yellow onion chopped
1 bell pepper chopped
3 cloves garlic chopped
3 tbsp chill powder
1 tbsp cumin
½ tbsp paprika
1 tsp chipotle powder
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce (unseasoned)
12oz dark beer

Directions:

Heat up the beef tallow over medium heat in a large dutch oven
Add in onions, garlic, bell pepper and sauté until soft
Add in chili powder, cumin, paprika and chipotle powder, stir to combine
Add in the brisket, stir to combine
Pour in the beer, scraping up the burned bits on the pan and stir to combine
Add in tomato paste, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce
Cover and let simmer for 2 hours to let all the flavors combine
Serve with Fritos and top with cheese
